In Minnesota she performed in a regional theatre where she played a role in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) was a parody documentary about beauty magazines. She's the mother of Kelly Curtis (and Jamie Lee Curtis) and Jamie Lee Curtis. Her film career started in mid- 1940s, after she was accepted by MGM. Her name was noticed by Norma shearer. In the 1960s, she appeared in a variety of films, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
